Homogeneous material structures, whether plastic, wood, metal, car tires, biowaste, construction waste or other materials, are suitable for automated handling. Baljer & Zembrod has developed a process to control its cranes hydraulically - automatically - with centimeter precision. The surface of the pile of material is measured with a laser and transferred to the automation system.
Baljer & Zembrod demonstrates automatic handling under real conditions on its test site.
A laser scans the troughs and creates a height profile, which is read out for further processing.
Supplied with the height profile data, the valves of the control block are actuated accordingly so that the gripper is guided to the highest point to pick up the material. The system achieves a high level of accuracy.
Test installation at the Altshausen plant. A B&Z crane model OBX, controlled by an automatic system with the support of the laser scanner, automatically manipulates the material from one basin to the other and vice versa.
